Equitel Internet Settings
To setup your phone to access the Internet, send a blank SMS to 445. A message which contains Internet settings will be sent to your phone. Select "Save" from options to save all the settings. You are now ready for Equitel internet.
Further to requesting for mobile settings via 445, add the basic setup settings, i.e., APN, Username, Password, Data bearer, Proxy port, Proxy IP as well as the standard settings for a Chinese phone both dual SIM & mono SIM.
Internet Settings
- Click on "Settings" > "Network & Internet" > "Mobile Network" > "Access Point Names".
- Press Menu button.
- Tap New APN.
- Tap Name > Input "Equitel" (Not case sensitive).
- Tap APN.
- Enter "Equitel" (Not case sensitive).
- Tap OK.
- Press Menu button and save
- Settings will automatically pick and auto fill.
- Restart device.
For Versions 5, 6 and 7
- Press Next.
- Press New
- Access point name (APN): equitel
- Select Equitel GPRS.
Press Edit… below Programs that automatically connect to the Internet should connect using.
- Press the Programs that automatically connect to the Internet should connect using dropdown list.
- Press ok.
- Settings Name: Equitel GPRS
- Press Select Networks. Press New… below Programs that automatically connect to the Internet should connect using.
- Press Start > Press Settings > Press the Connections tab > Press Connections > Press the Advanced tab.
- Connection Name: Equitel GPRS
- Select a modem: Cellular Line (GPRS, 3G).
- Press Next.
- User name: equi
- Password: data
- Domain: leave blank.
- Press Finish
- Press Equitel GPRS to mark it.
- Press ok to activate the data connection.
- Press ok twice to exit the menu item.
- Press Close several times to return to stand-by mode.
- From the Home Screen, Swipe from bottom to top to access the menu.
- On the Menu Screen, Locate the settings icon and open it by tapping on it.
- On the System Settings Menu, Locate Network Connections and open it.
- On the Network Connections Menu, Locate Mobile Network and open it.
- On the Mobile Network Menu, Locate APN at the bottom and open it
- On the APN Settings Menu, Type the name "Equitel" under the Access Point Namethen Tap on Save at the top right corner.
Multimedia Messaging (MMS) Settings
Go to Settings > General > Network > Cellular Data Network > MMS
Enter the following: –
- APN: equitel
- Username: equi
- Password: data
- MMSC: http://mms.gprs. equitel.com
- MMS proxy: leave blank
- MMS max message service: leave blank
- MMS ua prof: leave blank
- Click on "Settings" > "Network & Internet" > "Mobile Network" > "Access Point Names".
- Press Menu button.
- Tap New APN.
- Tap Name > Input "Equitel" (Not case sensitive).
- Tap APN.
- Enter "Equitel" (Not case sensitive).
- Tap OK.
- Press Menu button and save.
- Settings will automatically pick and auto fill.
- Restart device.
For Versions 5, 6 and 7
Equitel Multimedia Messaging (MMS) Settings
- Press New
- Press Edit… below Programs that automatically connect to the Internet should connect using.
- Select Equitel MMS.
- Press the Programs that automatically connect to the Internet should connect using dropdown list.
- Press ok.
- Settings Name: Equitel MMS
- Press New… below Programs that automatically connect to the Internet should connect using.
- Press Select Networks.
- Press Start > Press Settings > Press the Connections tab > Press Connections > Press the Advanced tab.
- Connection Name: Equitel MMS
- Select a modem: Cellular Line (GPRS, 3G).
- Press Next.
- Access point name (APN): equitel
- Press Next.
- User name: equi
- Password: data
- Domain: leave blank.
- Press Finish
- Press Equitel MMS to mark it.
- Press ok to activate the data connection.
- Press ok twice to exit the menu item.
- Press the Home key several times to return to stand-by mode.
- Press Start > Press Messages > Press Messaging > Press SMS/MMS > Press Menu > Press New >Press MMS Options
- Save sent messages (Check)
- Reject all messages (Un-Check)
- Allow delivery report (Check)
- Allow read report (Check)
- Retrieval mode: Auto
- Attempts before giving up – 4
- Photo resolution: Original
- Press the Servers tab > Press New
- Server name: Equitel MMS1
- Gateway: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
- Port number: 8080
- Server address: http://mms.gprs.equitel.com
- Connect via: Equitel MMS
- Sending size limitation: 300K
- WAP version: WAP 2.0
- Press Done
- Press and Equitel MMS1 until a pop-up menu is displayed.
- Press Set as Default.
- Press ok twice to exit the menu item.
- Press the Home key to return to stand-by mode.
For Versions 7.5 to Version 8
Multimedia Messaging (MMS) Settings
- Tap ADD
- Tap connection Name and type in Equitel mms
- Scroll to mms APN and Enter Equitel for the mms Access Point Name
- Scroll to Proxy address and enter xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
- Tap Proxy Port and type in 8080
- Scroll to mmsc address and enter in http://mms.gprs.equitel.com
- Tap authentication type and select PAP
- Tap the tick symbol
- Tap ok when informed that here are no internet settings as we have already entered these.
- Tap and hold Equitel Internet and then select activate
- If you see the word active in blue under Equitel internet then this has been completed successfully
Equitel Multimedia Messaging (MMS) Settings
- On the Home Screen, swipe left to right to access the Hub.
- Tap Text Messages, then tap Menu (3 dots), then Settings.
- Tap Text Messages, then tap Advanced.
- Scroll down to APN Settings
Enter the following information:
- APN type Equitel
- Username type equi
- Password type data
- MMSC URL type http://mms.gprs.equitel.com
- Proxy URL type xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8080
- Proxy Username = Leave Blank
- Proxy Password = Leave Blank
- Tap Save
- Modem setting Profile name: Equitel
- select static
- Access point(APN): Equitel
- Access number: *99#
- Username: equi
- pass: data
