Building on the success of the previous 4G launch, Equitel in partnership with Airtel is once again revolutionizing the virtual telecommunications landscape by being the first successful MVNO offering 5G services in Africa, ushering in a new era of lightning-fast connectivity for customers.
Nairobi, 12th August 2021… Equity’s mobile virtual network operator (MVNO), Equitel, has launched its fourth generation (4G) services. The new 4G high-speed broadband network offers faster speeds to browse, stream, download and upload for customers in line with current market demands.
County governments and departments within various ministries are set to improve revenue collection, accountability while enhancing the quality of services for taxpayers following Equitel’s partnership with the eCtizen platform.
Equitel users can now buy airtime and data bundles with the introduction of a new 412222 Paybill number on Safaricom’s M-Pesa mobile money transfer service.
Equitel subscribers can now check their credit status and access reports through an SMS service from international credit bureau, TransUnion.
The new packages dubbed Data bundle plus, Jipimie bundles and Ongea bundles are meant for subscribers who want more value for browsing, sending SMSs and calling.
Nairobi 4th April 2017… Equitel registered growth in value and number of mobile money transactions, the latest data from the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) shows.
Nairobi July 10th 2017 … The volume of mobile commerce transactions that were processed through the Equitel platform grew by 21 per cent in the third quarter of the year driven by the increased use of the EazzyPay mobile money payment service.
